Paul S. Leo, M.D., has been practicing medicine in the state of Colorado since 1994. He is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management as well as being fellowship-trained in Pain Management.
Dr. Leo's undergraduate work at Cornell University included a B.A. in Physics and concentrations in Science and German Literature. He then received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center, where he received two years of training in surgery. Dr. Leo completed his residency in Anesthesia and his fellowship in Pain Management at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
After practicing for two years in New York City, Dr. Leo settled in Golden. He has a wide range of experience, including:

- Teaching programs
- Level I trauma centers in NYC and St. Anthony’s Central Hospital in Denver

Dr. Leo knows that pain can affect each patient differently, which is why he uses a multi-disciplinary approach to treating each individual with the goal to improve the quality of life. He often uses a combination of therapies, where appropriate, including medication and interventional therapy.
Over the course of his years in practice, he has handled thousands of procedures involving complicated techniques such as intrathecal pumps, radiofrequency ablations, cryotherapy, stimulators in the spinal cord, and spinal injections such as epidurals and facets, joint injections, and dry needling, as well as stem cell injections and PRP therapy.
In his private life, Dr. Leo benefits from exercise from tai chi and kung fu as well as baseball and skiing. He lives with his wife and two children.
